grassroot geekery in the UK.
GeekUp is a community of web designers, web developers, and other tech-minded folk from the UK. It's a grassroots knowledge sharing and networking social for folks involved or interested in the web and technology industry. Monthly events take place in Chester, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and Sheffield.
GeekUp's take place, every first Wednesday of the month in Sheffield, every second Tuesday in Manchester, every third Monday in Preston, every third Tuesday in Chester, every third Wednesday in Leeds and every last Tuesday in Liverpool all GeekUp's are free to attend. Each event is different some are purely social and some have talks but you'll defiantly find beer and a good ole geeky chat.
GeekUp was founded in 2005 after a meeting of geeks at the Paramount Bar on the corner of Portland Street and Oxford Road in Manchester. Present at the first event were: Andrew Disley, Ben Ward, Paul Farnel and Stephen Henesy.
